The wife of a Mexican immigrant killed by Grapevine police has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city, according to the Dallas Morning News. Ruben Garcia Villalpando was shot and killed during a traffic incident by Grapevine police officer, Robert Clark, but a jury declined to indict him. The lawsuit alleges the death was unnecessary and excessive, as Villalpando did not pose an immediate threat to Clark. A video the incident shows Villalpando walking toward Clark while Clark repeatedly tells him to stop; about six minutes into the video, Clark shoots him. The family is seeking unspecified actual and punitive damages.
