An accident in Euless involving an alleged intoxicated driver killed a soldier on his way to National Guard duty last weekend, according to MyFOX DFW. The soldier, 20-year-old Brandon Bennett, from Hurst, was driving to Lewisville for weekend drills when he was struck head-on on Westpark Way near Pipeline Road by 26-year-old Beth Branum. Bennett was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Branum was treated for minor injuries and then arrested for intoxication manslaughter. The Euless police department is waiting for the results of Branum’s toxicology test.
