Actress Shannon Doherty has revealed that she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer, but feels it could have been avoided if she had not lost her insurance coverage, according to the Huffington Post. As a result of her illness, Doherty has filed a lawsuit against her former management, Tanner Mainstain Glynn & Johnson because the company failed to pay her insurance premiums, which were billed by Screen Actors Guild. After her insurance was terminated by SAG, the management company dropped Doherty, and the actress was unable to see a doctor until it was reinstated in 2015. At that time, Doherty received her diagnosis, and learned she would likely have to undergo a mastectomy and chemotherapy. Doherty’s lawsuit claims her former management team could have prevented this treatment.
