A professional rodeo cowboy was injured after crashing his plane on Friday morning, according to NBC DFW. The man, 32-year-old York Gill, his girlfriend, Christy Stransky, and their two dogs were on the plane at the time of the accident. The plane took off from Clark Field Municipal Airport in Stephenville, but soon after began to have engine trouble. Gill, whom has a pilot’s license, attempted to land the plane on U.S. Highway 67, but traffic caused the plane to instead land in a ditch. Gill was listed as serious injury, while Stransky is believed to be in fair condition, but neither sustained life-threatening injuries. One of their dogs is also in serious condition. The FAA and DPS will investigate the accident.
