A lawsuit filed against Chipotle claims the food chain attempted to cover up an outbreak of norovirus, according to Buzzfeed News. The plaintiffs in the civil lawsuit were infected with the virus and allege that despite the evidence of a foodborne virus, Chipotle did not contact local health officials and hid evidence of what was happening. A total of 234 people were diagnosed with gastrointestinal illnesses stemming from the Ventura County location. The lawsuit seeks damages, and is one of several filed against Chipotle due to the illnesses contracted at its restaurants in recent months.
