A federal judge has approved a settlement in the lawsuit against the National Football League, according to CNN News. 5,000 ex-NFL players filed the class-action lawsuit for serious injuries resulting from repeated head trauma during their time in the league. The settlement will apply to all players, or their family members of the player is deceased, that retired on or before July 7, 2014 and will provide up to $5 million per player. 200 players that believe the NFL intentionally hid the dangers of repeated concussions opted out of the lawsuit, but can file a separate lawsuit. If no appeals are filed, payments will likely begin this summer.
