The family of a girl that died after jumping from a school bus has field a lawsuit against the school district, according to FOX DFW. 13-year-old My’Kayla Thomas died in December after she jumped from a moving bus on her way home from an alternative school in Galveston. The bus was going 55 miles per hour on I-45 at the time of the incident. Thomas died two days later. A video of the accident allegedly shows Thomas, who had gotten into a fight with another student previously, intentionally jumping. Her family, however, is citing negligence on the school district’s part as a reason for her death in their lawsuit.
