A settlement has been reached in lawsuit filed on behalf of a Houston teenager that claims he was beaten by a school police officer, according to NBC DFW. The alleged incident took place in May of 2014 in the Pasadena School District after the 16-year-old student attempted to retrieve his cellphone after it was taken from him and used a profanity. The student’s parents claim he was then beaten with a baton at least 18 times by a school district police officer, and sustained bruises and cuts as result. The parents of the boy filed a $1 million lawsuit earlier this year, but have settled for $60,000.
