An 18-wheeler carrying motor fuel jackknifed early yesterday evening on I-20 in Dallas, causing 100 gallons of diesel to spill. The truck then hit two cars, which caused another 50 gallons to spill. It also trapped one woman in her vehicle; it took 10 minutes for the Dallas Fire-Rescue team to free her. The woman sustained the only injuries; she was taken to a local hospital. The Dallas Morning News reports her injuries to be non-life threatening. The accident caused several hours worth of traffic delays due to clean-up, but all things considered, it could have been much worse.

18-wheeler accidents tend to be more serious than the typical car crash due to size, weight and the specific types of cargo they carry. An 18-wheeler carrying fuel could very well have caused fatal injuries for multiple parties. If you or someone you love has been hurt in an 18-wheeler accident, contact Haire Law.
