According to a Texas Department of Transportation report, as reported by a Dallas Morning News blog, the driver of a Rizo Trucking dump truck was reckless before losing control of his vehicle in early September this year. The 19-year-old crashed into the concrete barrier on the LBJ Freeway in Dallas, trapping two cars underneath. An elderly couple, Tarleton and Benna Mullikin, were pinned inside their vehicle, and died at the scene. The driver in the other vehicle trapped received minor injuries; two other cars were involved but those passengers were not hurt.

What the Mullikin family have, and will continue to endure in the aftermath of this accident, is tragic. It is unclear what action will be taken, as no charges or arrests have been made. It is possible that the driver may face criminal charges, and a civil suit may ensue. If you or someone you love has been injured in an 18-wheeler or trucking accident, contact Haire Law.
