A hit-and-run that killed a 33-year-old man in Dallas has now been solved, after a the mother of the driver persuaded her son to turn himself in. Jose Alberto Guerra-Orta struck Hugo Ricardo Soria-Porto with his vehicle as Soria-Porto was walking on the shoulder of Highway 175, according to the Dallas Morning News. Guerra-Orta left the scene, and Soria-Porto died there. Guerra-Orto and his mother went to the police at around midnight on Wednesday, and he was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury and/or death. Whether or not Soria-Porto’s widow and family will take any civil action is unclear.
