A bus carrying a group of high school cheerleaders was hit head-on by a suspected intoxicated driver, according to WAVE 3 News. The accident occurred on Interstate 75 near exit 259 early Thursday morning. The charter bus was carrying 29 cheerleaders from Bullitt Central High School in Kentucky, two adult sponsors, and a school counselor at the time of the accident, but no one was injured. The wrong-way driver, 22-year-old Lisa Wells, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. She is being charged with DUI, reckless driving, and driving on the wrong side of the roadway.
