A leak of a hazardous chemical killed four workers at a Houston-area industrial plant on Saturday, according to the Dallas Morning News. The methyl mercaptan leak began at about 4 a.m. at the DuPont Plant in La Porte, which is about 20 miles outside of Houston, where it was used to make crop-protecting products. The leak exposed five employees, who were attempting to contain it, in total. Four of those workers died at the plant, and the fifth worker, whose condition has not been released, was transported to a local hospital. The company has stated that they will cooperate with the investigation into the incident.
