A retired Dallas firefighter has died after being involved in a motorcycle accident, according to NBC DFW. The accident occurred last Sunday after a pickup driver, who police said was under the influence of alcohol, collided with the motorcycle of 60-year-old Charlie Contreras. Contreras retired from Dallas Fire Rescue four years ago. Contreras was critically injured, and passed on Wednesday at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. A female motorcycle passenger was also injured; she remains hospitalized. The driver, 20-year-old Juan Diaz Lizama, fled from the scene and was later arrested at his home. He is being charged with intoxication assault with a vehicle, among several other charges.
