The Dallas-based Texas Rangers and the concession operator are being sued by Don Alan Markum Jr. after he was attacked by another fan at a game against the Detroit Tigers in 2011. Markum says he was trying to intervene in an ongoing altercation when he was hit, knocking him unconscious, according to the Dallas Morning News. The lawsuit filed reports that Markum has undergone multiple surgeries as a result, and has been left permanently disfigured. His attacker has already been sentenced to probation and a fine, and has been ordered to pay restitution to Markum. However, Markum believes that the Rangers are also at fault for failing to provide adequate security and helping him seek medical assistance.
