A stolen minivan fleeing from police crashed into a vehicle Tuesday morning, killing a teenage boy and seriously injuring a mother, according to NBC DFW. A Highland Park police officer saw the driver of the minivan commit a moving violation, and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle refused to stop, and took off toward a residential area, at which point the officer terminated the pursuit of the driver. The driver of the minivan then ran a stop sign, colliding with the sedan that carried Ethan Vasquez, and his mother, Sandy Vasquez. Ethan Vasquez, whose father is a sergeant with the Cedar Hill Police Department, was killed, while his mother was taken to a local hospital, where she is in critical condition. The driver of the minivan, which was reported stolen two weeks ago, has not been located, and police are asking anyone with knowledge of the driver or accident to come forward.
