More than 700 former NFL players have joined in to file a class action lawsuit against the league, alleging that the NFL created a culture of drug use to push players to continue games despite injuries, according to FOX DFW and ESPN. Among the claims made against the NFL is that trainers and doctors regularly, and at times, illegally, provided players with strong narcotics. As a result, the players involved in the lawsuit have suffered addiction, organ and nerve damage, and muscle and bone problems. Several big names from the league have joined in the lawsuit, which covers players from 1968 to 2006.
