It’s been a touch week for the Dallas Police Department; after an internal affairs investigation concluded on Monday, two officers were recommended to be terminated for violent off-duty incidents, according to the Dallas Morning News, and soon another may also face the same fate. Two officers, Edgar Garcia-Martinez and Senior Cpl. Kristoffer Lewis, were accused of being involved in domestic violence incidents, while the third, Rene Villanueva, allegedly assaulted a man he was arresting while working security at a Dallas nightclub in November. Another officer involved received a five-day suspension for improper use of force.  Villanueva, who was in uniform during the assault, has previously fatally shot two suspects, but was cleared in both cases; however, internal affairs found that he sent unwanted romantic text messages to a robbery witness in 2009.
