A weekend accident in Irving took the lives of two children after their mother got behind the wheel, despite having five drinks beforehand, according to the Dallas Morning News. Police reported that 30-year-old Crystal Suniga’s blood alcohol content was 0.18, over twice the legal limit, when she lost control of her SUV. Police also suspect Suniga was driving significantly over the 30-mph speed limit. Suniga had two other children in her vehicle at the time of accident; one suffered minor cuts and bruises while the other has a broken pelvis. Suniga was hospitalized for minor injuries before being arrested for intoxication manslaughter, injury to a child, and intoxication assault.
