Confusion and outrage have swept through the St. Louis metroplex following the death of an unarmed teenager at the hands of a police officer on Saturday in the small suburb of Ferguson, according to the Huffington Post. While an investigation is underway to determine the exact events that took place, witnesses claim that 18-year-old Michael Brown was walking with a friend to his grandmother’s house when police approached them; Brown raised his arms, but he was still shot multiple times by the officer. Brown’s friend has not been charged or arrested, and the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave. Riots and looting came soon after Brown’s death, resulting in the arrests of almost three dozen people.
