A cyclist died Thursday evening near Oak Lawn after being hit and pinned under a vehicle. According to the Dallas Morning News, 19-year-old Alexander Ryan Jones was attempting to cross Weldon Street in Dallas when he was struck by an SUV; police reports said that a median wall and rainy weather prevented Jones and the driver of the SUV from seeing one another. Rescue crews were able to free Jones but he died in the process. This may be the first of fatal accidents this weekend as cold weather comes to Dallas. It is important to drive more carefully than usual, be on the lookout for dangerous conditions, such as ice or rain, and be aware that other drivers may not be as prepared.
