Two were killed and another person was critically injured outside of Lubbock on Monday after a wrong-way driver struck another vehicle, according to NBC DFW. A witness called into 911 to report to a SUV driving the wrong way on U.S. 84, about 25 miles from Lubbock, in the eastbound lanes. An officer attempted to catch up to the driver, but could not stop him before the crash occurred. The passengers of the other vehicle, a 62-year-old woman and her 8-year-old granddaughter, were killed. The driver of the SUV was taken a local hospital for his injuries, but his condition was later reported to be satisfactory. Officials are now conducting an investigation of the accident.
