Five residents of a San Antonio senior-living facility were killed after a fire broke out in the building, according to NBC DFW. The incident took place just after 6 a.m. on Sunday at, Wedgewood Apartments, an 11-story facility where 350 residents live. About 80 were unaccounted for at the time of the fire; some are believed to have been traveling for the holidays. At least 17 were injured and remain hospitalized. The remaining residents were taken to a local high school or hotel for the time being. The cause of the fire is unknown, but an investigation is underway.
