Nearly 30 people were injured in a train accident in Los Angeles early Tuesday morning, according to the LA Times. The train was travelling to LA from Ventura County when a truck attempted to cross the tracks, and the two collided. The driver of the truck, 54-year-old Jose Alejandro Sanchez-Ramirez, fled the scene and was picked up about a mile and a half away from the accident. Four of the train’s five car derailed, ending up in gravel and on the street. 28 people were injured in total, four of whom sustained critical injuries. The crash was recorded on the train’s cameras, and the National Transportation Safety Board is conducting the investigation.
