Three people were killed in a head-on collision in Freestone County on Monday, according to NBC DFW. The accident occurred on Monday morning on Interstate 45 after a Chevrolet travelling the wrong direction collided with a Nissan Pathfinder. Both drivers were killed as a result; a 14-year-old passenger was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead. Five other children and one adult were taken to Dallas hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions have not been released, but none of the children were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Two other vehicles were also involved in the accident, but none of their occupants were believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
