Five nursing students were killed earlier this week in an accident in Savannah, Georgia, according to the Savannah Morning News. The students, of Georgia Southern University, were headed toward their last day of clinical rotations at a Savannah hospital when a tractor-trailer crashed into their vehicles on Interstate 16. A second tractor-trailer and three more vehicles became involved, and a sedan carrying three of the students caught fire. Four people were killed at the scene, and the fifth died after being transported to the hospital. Two more people were also injured in the accident, which is under investigation by the state’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
