The family of 31-year-old Corey Deon Bailey has settled with Dallas County $800,000 after Bailey died in their custody in 2008. According to the Dallas Morning News, Bailey was arrested for driving while intoxicated; less than two weeks after his arrest, he was involved in an incident with jailers and didn’t receive adequate medical attention. His family claimed Bailey was suffering from paranoid delusions at the time of his arrest, while Dallas County planned to argue PCP was found in his system, but the settlement was reached before that piece of information was introduced. Several jailers were also a part of the suit, but Dallas County will pay all of the settlement.
