The family of two teens killed in an accident involving an 18-wheeler is hoping to persuade lawmakers to pass tougher regulations for commercial trucks, according to FOX DFW. 17-year-old AnnaLeah and 13-year-old Mary Karth were killed last year after an 18-wheeler veered out of its lane and crashed into their vehicle in Georgia. The teens were on their way to see their older sister graduate from the University of Texas Arlington. The investigation later revealed that the driver of the 18-wheeler was suffering from fatigue – which can have devastating effects, like the Karth family’s accident. The Karths have since travelled to Washington DC in hopes of influencing policy on truck regulations.
