A second lawsuit has been filed against Southern Methodist University in Dallas over the handling of a sexual assault case, according to the Dallas Morning News. SMU is currently under federal investigation for its policies regarding sexual assault complaints; one student filed a lawsuit earlier this year after claiming she was raped in a dorm room by another student. A second student, whom was a freshman at the time, alleges that a prominent fraternity member assaulted him in the fall of 2012, and SMU not only released details that allowed other students to identify him, but also encouraged him to drop the complaint. He left SMU a little less than a month after the assault, forfeiting an exclusive scholarship, because the harassment became unbearable. He is now enrolled in a different college and is receiving counseling for the incident.
