Richard Evans complained of stomach pain when he was admitted to Denton Regional Medical Center in May. A few hours later, a doctor informed his wife Evans was dead. She is now searching for an explanation for what went wrong that day. After an initial CT scan, a doctor decided Evans was not suffering from a medical emergency and could wait until the next day to be seen, according to MyFOX DFW. A nurse gave him several doses of morphine in the meantime; morphine, however, worsened his constipation. Police were called in and autopsy performed, but Evans’ family is not satisfied with the results. They have since filed complaints against those that attended to Evans in the hospital, and it’s possible a civil suit will follow.
