Carolina Panthers quarterback, Cam Newton, has been released from the hospital after being involved in a collision Tuesday afternoon, according to the Charlotte Observer. The accident occurred at an intersection in uptown Charlotte, and left Newton with fractured bones in his back and suffering from soreness. Neither Newton nor the other driver involved in the crash has been charged, but the intersection is the fourth intersection where a collision is most likely to occur, with 15 motorists believed to have been injured there since 2009. The effect of Newton’s injuries long-term cannot yet be determined, but it is expected that he will not play in Sunday’s game.
