Earlier this week, two teenage boys were attacked by a pair of pit bulls in Monahans, Texas, outside of Midland-Odessa – an attack that required surgery for one of the victims, 13-year-old Joshua Gomez. Gomez was walking to school when he was attacked by the dogs, and was then dragged to an alley. A witness was able to fight off the dogs with a stroller, but they attacked another teenage boy, whose name has not been released, soon after. The dogs’ owner visited the victims in the hospital and has apologized, but, according to CBS7.com, Gomez has requested the dogs be put down.

If criminal charges are filed, it is possible that Gomez’s hope will be fulfilled, who has been predicted to be released from the hospital on Monday following a second surgery. A dog attack, let alone an attack requiring two surgeries, can be a frightening experience for any young teenager and family to go through. It could be beneficial to Gomez – and other victims of dog bites – to seek a personal injury attorney in order to take legal action and recover damages for the injuries received.
